BYB story: Salut! Ça va bien, merci! Je m'appelle Nathawara!

Allow me to introduce myself in French as I will be studying in Montreal, Canada, where French is a second language. I must admit that I'm a bit nervous since it's my first time learning French, but as my dream school is located there, I'm willing to take the risk. Currently, I work as an Art and Creative Director in a graphic design company, and my goal is to transition into the film and media industry as a VFX (Visual Effects) artist. This may sound like a straightforward career path, but let me share that my journey has been anything but conventional. Despite initially pursuing engineering and later earning a first-honor degree in political science, I found my true passion in the art field. While my path may seem unconventional, I've never stopped working towards my dream.

Fortunately, I discovered the Matilda Foundation, a generous and supportive organization that opens the door to many dreamers. Being accepted into their Break Your Boundary (BYB) program was a life-changing opportunity. It was challenging for me to secure a scholarship to support my tuition fees since my previous educational background is not directly related to the media field. However, the Matilda Foundation is free of judgment and positions itself as a bridge for those with a strong passion to reach their educational goals. It felt like a significant step closer to achieving my dream, and I couldn't be prouder. The proudest moment in my entire life came when I received acceptance into my dream VFX school, Lost Boys Studio – a moment that left me speechless.

Admittedly, it hasn't been easy for me due to my limited knowledge in visual effects. Nevertheless, I've dedicated myself to intense studying and will continue to do so. My advice to anyone aspiring to join this field is to understand and learn to communicate with the programs, much like wizards understand their spells.

If you lack confidence in your skills, seek guidance from experienced individuals and don't hesitate to ask for help. I encourage everyone to be brave and seize the opportunity, as you never know when it might be a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

À coeur vaillant rien d'impossible.
